Lucian Malbrand, Prince of Eldoria, was born into riches and power. Prince only by title, he has been overlooked and forgotten for most of his life. He was born without magic, a disgrace to the royal family.
Ronan, leader of the Ash Hollow rebellion, has nothing to lose. He lost his parents to plague, and his sister, Alina, will die soon if he can't get help.
The kingdom has stripped the lands of all healers, keeping them in the castle to only be used for royal blood, or those loyal to the royal family.
Ronan and his supporters create a plan: kidnap a royal to gain their attention. In doing so, hopefully he will be able to save his sister.
Lucian doesn't go down without a fight, but it doesn't take long for him to realize the true horrors of the kingdom he has always called home.
What began as a plan to save Ronan's sister soon turns into war of loyalty, identity, and intimacy. Lucian must decide if he is willing to betray everything he knows for the greater good. Ronan must decide if he can allow himself to forgive and to love or if he will let the hatred kill him from the inside out.
