Mother was a fierce warrior, a proud Knight of the Empire - or she had been, at least. Now nothing had meaning anymore, as the World was breaking: the Empire was shattered, humanity had been devoured by the same flames that had cracked the earth, and all the people she knew were dead... But she could not embrace Death nor grieve, as she had sworn an Oath, her final tie to the Age that had come to a close: she had to protect the Child, to bring him somewhere safe.
That was her mission, and in order to fulfil it Mother had to cross a wasteland of ash and ruin, ready to face all kinds of danger, in the blind hope that a safe heaven existed somewhere.
But a shadow trailed her steps, always able to find her. His mission opposed to hers.
Only one of the two could fulfil their oath, and the Child's life - and maybe much more - depended on it.
