As we sat by the ocean, the wind tousling our hair periodically, I glanced at his hand next to me-supporting him leaning back. I took a quiet breath before asking.

"Jihoon, do you like me?"

A wave crashed near the beach as I saw his fist clench faintly before looking up at him. He turned his face away, biting his bottom lip as his ears turned slightly pink at the top.

He looked back at me after a moment, letting his bottom lip-that looked plump and flushed now-free.
His mouth was slightly open with words at the back of his throat. He let out a small chuckle as a shy smile appeared on his face.

"Busted."

You-a masters student studying to be an optometrist-were going about your day and ended up at the library, wanting to study as exams were approaching. You stumble upon the only table with vacant seats, only one other person sitting there. A guy deeply emersed in his laptop.

With your first meeting at the library, you asking if the seat infront of him was vacant and Jihoon nodding slowly, you both proceeded to do your respective work.

What was supposed to be a one-off interaction between strangers quick to part ways in this vast world, quickly turned into an everyday question.
