The sky cracked open quietly, not with thunder, but with a sudden, eerie stillness. It wasn't the sound that woke her, but instead the silence that came after. And then she noticed it, beneath her window, bathed in the flickering glow of the streetlight, lay a single rose. Again. No note. No footsteps. No sound. Just that gnawing feeling, like someone already knew she'd be awake at exactly 3:17 a.m. once more. And waiting.
