Without looking up, he could sense the owner had slipped from the back and was now standing behind the counter. Tan flipped the pages of his sketchbook backwards until he reached a recent, unfinished drawing. Tracing his fingers along the pencil lines, he smiled to himself before looking up with a smile towards the owner and, luckily, was met with the smallest of smiles in return.

There, he comes across a friendly stranger who is more than ready to help out Day in any way he can. And Day thinks that maybe - just maybe - he has found the only person who didn't pity him. ⚬─────────✧─────────⚬ Excerpt from the book : This was not the first time anyone had ever appreciated Day's writing, but this time around, Day sure felt awkward and speechless. His lack of social life sure took a toll on him. "Good night, P'Mhok. It seems like it's going to rain, get home safely." He managed to say something, and to second his statement, the thunder came rumbling afterward. Mhok smiled and looked at Day in a different manner like he did for the past few days. The look that made him realize that Day was not just his employer. I like you, Day - he wanted to say that. "Good night, Day." He settled with that instead. ✿

It's a rainy evening in Bangkok. Becky, always buried in her books, walks into her favorite quiet café, hoping for a peaceful evening of reading. The bell above the door jingles as she enters, but today something feels different. Freen, a regular at the café, is sitting at her usual corner, sketching absentmindedly, lost in her thoughts. She doesn't notice Becky as she walks past, but Becky notices her - there's something calming about Freen, always quietly observing the world around her, yet never seeming in a rush. Becky: under her breath "She always looks so... peaceful." As Becky settles into her corner, her book forgotten for a moment, she feels a pair of eyes on her. Freen glances over from her sketchpad, and their eyes meet for a brief moment. Becky quickly looks away, feeling the flush of warmth rise in her cheeks. Freen: softly "You... still reading the same book?" smiles gently, not pushing further. Becky: nervously adjusting her glasses "Yeah, I... I get lost in it sometimes."
