PROMISE

Ava Wynn was never fragile. She laughed too loud, fought too hard, and loved like it was a full-time job. She could piss me off in five seconds flat and still be the only person I wanted near me. She was the light to my darkness, the calm I never deserved, and I ruined her anyway, just by not being there when it mattered. People say time fixes things. They're wrong. Some things just stop bleeding and start burning. She's still here, still breathing, still trying to heal. But her eyes isn't the same anymore. And I can't forgive a world that did that to her. So I made her a promise. And I kept it. I don't care what it makes me. Monster, villain, whatever that ends everything. The only thing that matters is that no one will ever hurt her again. Not while I'm still breathing. I don't make threats. I finish them. If keeping my promise means burning everything else, then I'll start with whoever's still standing. They took her peace. I took everything they had left. She's supposed to be fine. That's all that matters. Everything else can fall apart. PROMISE - a vow kept, a line crossed, a love that refuses to die quietly.
