"Play for Pigeons" is the story of Kai, a boy who once believed music could save the world-until the night his best friend took his own life, leaving behind nothing but a bloody tissue and a promise: Never quit. Even when I'm not here. Seven years later, the rain still falls on the same street. The pigeons still gather. But Kai has forgotten how to sing-until a stranger named Chris shows up with questions, a guitar of his own, and a quiet faith that maybe, just maybe, not all lost things are gone forever. A story of grief, healing, unexpected hope, and the songs we write for those who stay, and those who don't.

Hope Smith would not describe herself as outgoing. Deep down, she knew that her life was ruled by her fears, but things were about to change. She had just graduated high school, suffered through her parents divorce and made what she thought was a simple decision to go camping, alone. Little did she know that this trip would challenge her heart and change her life. Would it be for the better? She would need to confront her past regrets, let go of her fears and become unguarded. Running into Ethan Thompson was the last thing on her mind...until she did. Could he be just what she needed? ***** This story is part of a series: Guarded Hope - book one Waiting for Hope - book two ( not a sequal but written from a different POV) Hope Unguarded - book three (chapters will be posted starting November 2016) Let me start by saying that this is the first story I have ever written. Therefore I honestly believe it is not my best work. Don't get me wrong, it's good if I do say so myself. I've heard from many of you that you enjoyed it, liked it and even loved it, which makes me happier than you could know. All that is to say that my writing has really improved since starting this story January of 2016 and I can see my progression. I hope you enjoy this, especially after I just dissed my own work!!
