This is my second short story about Katniss and Peeta's son, Ash. In the last story he was twelve and Katniss took him out to teach him how to hunt. She taught him a lot and gave him a little more information about when she and Peeta were in the Hunger Games.
Ash is now fourteen and has been hunting with his mom, Katniss for two years and is desperate to be allowed to hunt alone. When a large bear is reported killing livestock, Ash takes it as an opportunity to prove himself.....

Ever since tragedy gave him enough courage to ask for her hand, the unspeakable happens. Katniss's little sister, Primrose, is reaped for the death sentence. Peeta watches helplessly as his lover volunteers to take her place in the Games. Soon after, Peeta is reaped himself. He knows that only one will come out alive: someone smart, determined, and strong enough. And it would be his love. It had to be.
