Some rivalries run deeper than the game. Impulsivity was never my style. I was the kind of woman who made decisions based on logic, not emotion. But when my best friend invited me to a Rabbitohs game-the same game my ex-boyfriend, Matteo Cruz, was playing in-I ignored my better judgment and said yes. It had been three months since I walked away from Matteo without a word. Three months since the whispers of his infidelity became undeniable. I told myself I wasn't going for him. I was going for my team, for the love of the game. And I definitely wasn't going for Farrow Lovelace. The Broncos' star fullback was everything I despised-cocky, ruthless, my ex's biggest rival. A man whose name alone sent stadiums roaring. He had no reason to notice me, no reason to care. But when Matteo tried to pull me back into his orbit, Farrow was the one who stepped in. Not because he wanted to protect me. Because he wanted to win. And in a world where competition is everything, I had to wonder... was I just another game to him?
