The chrome is gone.
V-once one of Night City's deadliest mercs-is stripped of every cyberware upgrade that once defined him. The reflex boosters, the Sandevistan, the optics, the muscle grafts-all of it, ripped out or dead inside him. The price of survival wasn't death. It was losing everything that made him powerful.
With Johnny Silverhand purged from his mind, V thought he might find peace. Instead, he found emptiness.
The city didn't care.
The Afterlife found new legends to worship. And Jackie... Jackie was still gone.
So V drifted.
Cheap liquor. Off-brand pills. No more high-paying contracts, no more fear in a fixer's eyes when his name came up. Just another burnout with a past too heavy to carry.
There are nights he swears the city forgot he existed. He's not special anymore-not to the Net, not to the corps, not even to the shadows. All that remains is the ache of what was and the crushing silence of what comes next.
