Golden autumn afternoons spent side by side in the quiet corners of a dusty high school library, two teens hiding from the chill outside-you and Paige, both fifteen, both restless, both chasing dreams too big for your small town. Homework Club was just an excuse, really-a way to spend hours tangled up in laughter, inside jokes, and stolen glances across cracked textbooks. You: the fiery, determined soccer girl, always with scuffed cleats and sunburnt cheeks. Paige: the chaotic, golden-hearted baller, her hands always spinning a basketball, her eyes always glowing with that spark of greatness. You were best friends. Maybe something more-though neither of you ever dared to say it out loud. But then senior year hit like a storm. A fight, sharp words, and all that closeness shattered. She committed to UConn, chasing a legendary basketball career. You chose UCLA, ready to carve your name into the soccer world. Two stars, once orbiting so close, now shot in opposite directions. Years pass. Championships, crowds, headlines. Yet sometimes, late at night, under stadium lights or hotel windows, you wonder: ✨ Does she ever think of you? ✨ ✨ Will your paths ever cross again? ✨ ✨ Can two people chasing greatness find their way back to each other? ✨

Emmie Cano has been playing for USC for the past three years. She is not only the best player on the team but one of the best players in the country. She has an average point of 22 per game, and almost no one can guard her. That is, except for her competition, Paige Bueckers. Paige Bueckers is slightly above her with a 23-per-game average, securing her as the #1 spot as the best women's college basketball player. Emmie and Paige have been switching between the #1 and #2 spots for the past 3 years, with Emmie having the spot her freshman year. Everyone knows them as the biggest rivals in women's college basketball. Every game between USC v. UCONN becomes intense, with the highest watched and populated game of the entire season, with fans dying to see the interactions and rivalry between Emmie and Paige. The tension is high, and the thought of Paige makes Emmie's blood boil. While USC has treated her well in the past, Emmie was shocked to find an offer from UCONN's coach in her phone for her incoming senior year. Her first instinct was to ignore it and laugh, but then she thought. UCONN was closer to her family, given they live in NYC. Emmie, with her dad in a coma back home, time zones, being unable to see her family, and being on the opposite side of the world all took a toll on Emmie. Not only was UCONN more practical, but it was her dream since she was in 8th grade. She was not offered a spot at UCONN in the freshman recruitment process, and USC became her best offer. Although the thought of being on the same team as Paige enraged her, she knew Paige could not let her stop her. It was a challenging choice to make. USC felt like home for Emmie. From the warm weather to the team to her friends, she felt complete. Yet basketball is her life, and she knew UCONN could increase her skill and give her a better experience as a player and her life. So, after talking to UCONN's coach, her decision became clear. Emmie is going to UCONN.
