Kyri is an outcast. He lives life in the shadows, hidden from his classmates. He prefers it this way. He was always more of an observer instead of a leader. He watched instead of created. He read instead of sports. He was a good kid, smart, had good grades, never bugged anyone, but secretly at home, his uncle and cousin abused him.

Years ago, Kyri's parents had died in a house invasion, protecting him from the intruders. Kyri's Uncle Hank, Aunt Ella, and Cousin Caleb took him in. His Uncle Hank started to drink in a way to mourn his wife. They had lost Aunt Ella a year after Kyri was adopted by the family. Then the yelling started. The harassment. Kyri knew it was the grief, he didn't mind much.

Obviously, like every Wattpad story Kyri has ever read, the uncle or dad becomes physically abusive. That's exactly what happened. Kyri started to get punched, or kicked every now and then. After a month or two, Hank got bored and moved to more harsh beatings.

Kyri's shy, un-trusting of others, and tends to keep out of attention. So what happens when he moves schools and the popular boy took Kyri under his wing?
