Pagod na si Heide-pagod mabuhay sa isang lugar kung saan ang kabaitan ay parusa at ang tiwala ay sentensiya ng kamatayan. Dati, naniniwala siya na sapat ang puso para mabuhay. Ngayon, alam na niya ang totoo: kailangan mong maging malamig, matatag, at handang mawalan ng pakiramdam. Dahil sa mundong ito, ang mabait ang unang namamatay.
Sa paligid niya, nagbabago ang lahat. Ang mga kaibigan ay nagiging kaaway. Ang mga kaaway, minsan, ay nagiging tanging dahilan para manatiling buhay. Walang permanente. Walang ligtas. At bawat sandali ng pag-aalinlangan ay maaaring huli na.

Sa gitna ng ulan, dugo, at bangkay, tahimik niyang hinuhugasan ang bigat ng bawat laban. Hindi siya bayani. Hindi rin siya ligtas. Pero siya ang pagbabago na hindi kayang tanggihan ni Heide.
