The History and Tradition of Flower-Based Healing Long before laboratories and synthetic drugs, human beings turned to nature for healing. Across continents and civilizations, flowers have held sacred and medicinal roles in traditional healing systems. In this chapter, we explore how ancient cultures-ranging from the Egyptians and Greeks to Chinese and Indigenous tribes-used floral remedies in rituals, medicine, and spiritual ceremonies. Egyptian priests burned blue lotus flowers in temples for their calming properties, while Greek healers like Hippocrates recommended floral tinctures for physical ailments. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, chrysanthemum and peony were revered for their internal cooling and balancing effects. Similarly, Native American tribes infused flowers such as echinacea and goldenrod into teas and poultices to treat infections and wounds. This chapter delves into the philosophy behind ancient flower medicine, how practitioners selected and prepared flowers, and how these time-tested methods continue to influence today's herbal and wellness communities. Readers will gain a deep appreciation for the cultural and historical significance of flower healing and how the wisdom of the past still offers relevance in modern times.

Moonrise

A young fairy's desire to break free from the restraints tethering her to her world, pushes her into the arms of a charming, young wolf, whose world benefits from keeping her shackled. ***** Sixteen-year-old Ellette longs to know what the world is like outside of the Woodlands, home to all Fae. As the black sheep of her family, her curious and stubborn nature makes it difficult for her to adhere to the strict ways of her people. One night while running away, Ellette stumbles upon Michael, an injured werewolf. She makes the choice to save his life, and intends to send him on his way once he recovers. But the more Ellette gets to know the intriguing, young wolf, the more reluctant she is to let him go. And letting him go would certainly be in her best interest. Not only is Michael an intruder in the Woodlands, but the very creature all Fae have good reason to fear. As his forbidden presence threatens the safety of all Fae, Ellette finds herself torn between following her heart or doing right by her people.
