Josuke's entire demeanor softened like a sigh. He tenderly pried (Y/n)'s hands off her face, tucking a piece of hair clinging to her tear-stained cheek behind her ear, and embraced her, where she wept further into his shoulder. "No, (Y/n)...I'm the one who owes you an apology. I never should have lost my cool with you the way I did, no matter how..."
"No matter how...?"
His signature pompadour was now a curtain of messy, violet locks draping to his shoulders, hence why he had no hesitation to run a shaking hand through it. "...I've been in countless situations where I've been on the brink of death, or had loved ones killed before my eyes, and yet, I've never felt more terrified than today, when I thought I lost you..."
The vision of hours ago was still fresh; he opened his eyes to paint a picture of reality, a portrait of life, and it took (Y/n) caressing his cheek, brushing away a tear from his eye, and presenting a smile that fluttered his heart to ease him.
"And how can I call myself Morioh's protector if I almost couldn't protect the girl I love most?"
