In the summer of 1997, Oklahoma's skies are brewing up a storm. Unfortunately, so is the rivalry between two of the university's brightest meteorology students: Hiccup Haddock and Astrid Hofferson.

They're academic nemeses both chasing the same tornadoes across America, vying for the same prestigious research paper that could define their careers.

But when Astrid's recklessness gets her car totalled and grounds her team, she has no choice but to do the unthinkable: ride shotgun with Hiccup Haddock.

Now stuck in the same vehicle, dodging funnel clouds and engaging in bitter arguments, they'll have to survive the sketchy motels, unpredictable storms, and each other's insufferable brilliance. But as the skies heat up, so does the tension between them because sometimes, the most powerful storms aren't the ones in the sky... they're the ones in your heart.
