when the 50th annual hunger games roll around and each district is forced to reap two times the amount of tributes, lainey isn't particularly worried for herself, but more so for her friends. what happens when the reaping doesn't go as plan and lainey finds herself headed into the second quarter quell as a tribute of district twelve?

haymitch abernathy had always had it harder than most. forced into becoming the man of the house at a young age and placed in the position of taking care of his mother and sid. he lived among the seam, working jobs for his mother and hattie, while trying to keep food on the table. he never really came off as approachable towards others, leaving with him with not many friends, other than lenore dove, of course, his best friend.

when the reaping comes on his sixteenth birthday, he's of course worried for himself, but he's more worried for lenore dove. praying that her name isn't called, but when things go wrong and he's forced to be a tribute for the quarter quell, he finds himself drawn to a certain blonde haired girl that he'd never quite gotten the courage to talk to. will things change for him as he navigates his way through the arena?
