Labyrinth inspired. Hermione Granger convinced Draco Malfoy to stay during the battle, and Voldemort made her pay the price. Struck down by a curse meant to destroy, her body survives, but her mind is trapped in a prison of calcification. Draco will stop at nothing to find a way to set her free. Haunted by what he let happen, he disappears with her into the Scottish Highlands with her, where magic runs thin and the world forgets. There, he builds a kingdom made in her image, and a labyrinth of trials, riddles, and many twists and turns.

This story is canon divergent. If you're a canon purist, this may not be the fic for you. Some characters who died in the books or films are still alive here, either for plot reasons or simply because I love them too much to let go.
