I pulled against my bonds.
"You'll never catch up to him!" Captain Daché merely looked my way and shrugged.

With a whoop I leapt from the rock and went cascading through the air and into the deep blue lagoon. As soon as I hit the water, I could already feel the change starting to occur. I smiled in the freshness and swam deeper, back to my home.

Faith ran through the rain. She ran over the field where she'd played in the sunshine so many times, she ran through the forest slipping in mud and covering her dress with stains.
When she could run no longer, Faith collapsed in the wet meadow and with a scream of anguish sobbed uncontrollably. Then, the memories came.

I gave the envelope a kiss. With butterflies in my stomach, I dropped it into the postage box. It would either make it to her or not. But for now, I have to stay alive. There's a war to be won

She was open-mouthed with disbelief. It was a bad idea; a surge lifted her and slapped salt water into her mouth. Bile burned her throat as she coughed and all the while she was still flailing at the water, fighting the drag of shoes and clothes to keep afloat. She should kick them off-that's what you were supposed to do if you fell into the ocean with your clothes on-but she was only a dozen feet from the dock. Besides, it was her only coat. Jason watched her the way she'd watch a barracuda. "I know you're following me." "Following you?" What. The. Hell. She gave a mighty kick and tossed her coat onto the dock. Jason just stood there. She....I....... I was running through the thick branches, pushing the leaves out of my way with all my might. I had to get away. The wet, brown, ground made it easier for me to slip and let her red, chilling hands slip around my innocent, scarred body, not knowing where she would take me next. I was almost out of breath, but I had to keep running if I wanted to make it out of this forest alive. My red dress was getting torn to shreds, and my hands and feet had mud all over them. My long, bushy brown hair was getting hooked on every possible branch, making me push my hair in the back of my dress, just like I used to when I was forced to cook everyday for my loathsome 'parents'. Returning back to the real world, I had to stop otherwise I would black out. I took a few seconds to catch my breath silently, and to look around to see if she was there behind me. I was looking up at the tall, old tree when I heard a twig snap behind me. Just like in the horror films. I turned and ran in the same direction, not daring to look back and see her wretched face fixed on my body. I sprinted and sprinted, but slowed down when I saw I was heading to nowhere but a ragged cliff. The unknown would me known if I continued to run and jump. I stopped two metres away from the cliff and looked down to see a valley so far down. If I jump..... I die. If I let her take me..... the unfair horribleness awaits me. I had no choice.
