The firelight flickered across the ceremonial hall, casting long shadows on the woven mats and stone-carved faces of forgotten gods. Incense choked the air. The smell was not of peace or prayer-it was of something trying too hard to mask rot.

Seah knelt beside the body, her breath shallow. The body was cold. Too cold. Her hands trembled as she brought the comb through strands of dark hair-matted, twisted, thick with dried blood and forest soil.

Whisper the release, do not look into their eyes. Do not speak to them. Never, ever hurt them. Especially if they smile.

She could still hear Mother Ayrah's words echoing inside her skull.

The corpse beneath her was still. But not peaceful.

Seah paused. Her heart slowed.

Mariko's eyes were open.

Her lips were smiling.

The smile grew.

And in that instant, Seah knew:

> This soul was not sleeping.

It was waiting.

WARNING: this book includes blood, manipulation, cursing, and mature topics (not smut please don't think that). Feel free to click off if any of these make you uncomfortable. ~•~ Something about it was so mysterious about this cave, and I wanted to know more. I entered the cave and saw a red crystal sealed in ice. "Woah." I whispered. The crystal glowed and the ice shattered. I jumped back and fell to the ground, watching as the ice broke completely. My eyes widened and I looked at my hands. "Did I do that?" I asked, but before I could answer, I heard a guard shout for backup as they had heard the ice shattering. I quickly jumped up and stashed the crystal in my pocket before leaving. I crept to the cave the following day, putting the crystal back into the remains of the ice pillar. As I walked away, the crystal fell, causing it to break into a million pieces. I jumped at the sudden noise and stumbled backwards, my eyes widening as a black smog formed around the crystal. "No, no, no, no! Frick." I desperately tried to grab the remains of the crystal, causing one to cut my hand. "Ow! Shit." I whispered, looking at my bleeding hand. "Tch, tch, tch, poor child." A demonic voice said. I looked up and saw that the black smog had two red eyes and a wide, sick smile that was dripping with venom. "I- who are you?" I asked, backing up. "The one who can help you out of here." It said, stretching out a hand. I looked it up and down and before I could answer, its hand plunged into my heart, causing me to scream out in pain. Can she adjust or will she crumble under the pressure? Excerpt: The screams and cries for help faded while silent tears continued to stream down her face. Her hands were slapped over her mouth to muffle any noise that escaped her quivering lips. She wasn't sure how long she was in that pantry but couldn't come out until she was beyond certain that they had left. For a moment, she started to have hope that maybe they wouldn't be able to find her, but a voice spoke up, and fear flooded in once again. "You cleared out the upstairs, too, right?" "Yeah." Another voice responded. There was a slight pause, "Hmm. Then where is that heartbeat coming from, I wonder." His voice had a sickening amusement to it, and her heart rate uncontrollably spiked with the adrenaline pumped through her veins. Was he talking about her? The thought that he could hear her heartbeat was crazy. It just wasn't humanly possible. Footsteps grew closer to the kitchen. Somehow, they had found her. She said one last prayer and goodbye to her life as the pantry opened. "Boo." The man yelled, peering in at her. She was frozen. There was nothing more she could do. She was going to die. "Little Birdy," he stretched out his hand, "come out to play."

In a forgotten village, cloaked in darkness and whispered fears, there stood a cabin that no one dared approach. The air around it hummed with old secrets, and the villagers spoke in hushed tones of those who vanished, of voices that echoed through the trees when no one was there. One eerie afternoon, a child named Mia stood frozen before the cabin, her gaze locked onto something-or someone-inside. Beside her was Meya, her face a strange blend of awe and terror. Mia asked in a trembling voice, "Why do you come here?" Meya, unblinking, replied, her words cold as the wind, "Because they're waiting." Then, with a shudder, Meya turned to Mia and asked softly, "Can you see them?" That night, Meya disappeared, swept away from the village, as if erased from existence-her name never spoken again. Years later, Mia, now a senior in high school, returns to the village for a school sketching trip. What was meant to be a simple outing soon turns into something far darker when her class stumbles upon the old cabin. The stories, long dismissed as superstition, are more than true. The doors close behind them with a deafening finality, and the air thickens with something ancient and malignant. What waits inside is not meant to be seen, and once you enter, escape is no longer an option. Some will lose their sanity, their minds unraveling as they glimpse what lurks in the shadows. And some... never leave. Because the cabin isn't just a place. It's a trap. And it's been waiting for them all along.

This book is the sequel to 'Prisha: The Devil's Solace'. I suggest you read that book first, and then continue with 'Prisha: The Devil's Claim'." _________ She stared at him with trembling eyes, her vision blurred by unshed tears. He was hers-her Rudhransh, her devil, her monster husband. Once, he had belonged only to her. But everything had changed three years ago. Now, he loathed her, despised her with a fury that left scars deeper than any blade. And to hurt her, to shatter whatever was left of her soul, he was doing the unthinkable. He was marrying someone else. He was becoming someone else. The room swam around her as she watched him fill another woman's hairline with vermillion, his fingers steady, his expression indifferent. The mangalsutra lay against her throat like a verdict, final and merciless. Her heart twisted violently inside her chest, every beat sending cracks through her already fragile existence. She took a step back-then another-as the cruel reality crashed down on her, suffocating her completely. Gone. He was gone. The last hope she had nurtured for six years-the hope that one day, somehow, he would be hers again-had just been crushed beneath the weight of his betrayal. Her steps faltered. Her vision darkened. Before she could process the whirlwind of agony ripping through her, she felt herself falling-plummeting into nothingness. Then-darkness. Cold. Silent. Suffocating. A shiver ran down her spine as the eerie quiet wrapped around her like chains, holding her captive. And then-his voice. Deep. Laced with something dangerous. "What will I do with you, dewdrop?" Her breath hitched. No. No. It wasn't possible. Her fingers curled against the unforgiving floor beneath her as realization struck with brutal force. "Is Rudhransh here with her? Or is she just dreaming with her eyes open?" And who is on mandap
