College was supposed to be the dream.

Reiko Aoki finally made it - USC's campus, a D1 basketball scholarship, and a chance to prove herself on a national stage. But nothing about Freshman year goes as planned. The pressure is relentless, the spotlight harsher, and everyone on the court is just as good as she is - or better. And no matter how far she runs, the injury that almost ended it all still haunts her steps.

Off the court, things are just as complicated. Living with Jabari - her best friend turned boyfriend - feels different now that the stakes are higher. Their relationship is real, but so are the cracks neither of them saw coming. Old friendships stretch thin, new ones form in the most unexpected places, and somewhere between scrimmages, sleepless nights, and stolen kisses, Reiko starts to question who she is without a ball in her hands.
