"Surviving was just the start."

Sage Larian has hated Ian McKinley since the third grade. He's loud, arrogant, emotionally constipated-and worst of all, he knows exactly how to get under her skin. She never planned to sit next to him on the Devil's Flight roller coaster, and she definitely didn't plan on living through it when half their class didn't.

Now, haunted by twisted visions and surrounded by grief, Sage is forced to confront an impossible truth: the crash wasn't the end. It was the beginning of something darker. Her friends are dying one by one in terrifying, inexplicable ways, and the only people who seem to understand are the ones she can barely stand to be around-Wendy, the conspiracy girl with a plan, and Ian, the boy who's unraveling faster than she is.

As the body count rises and paranoia takes root, Sage is left questioning everything: the rules of fate, the limits of grief, and whether the line between hate and love is thinner than she thought. Because Death is coming for them in order. And this time, there's no second chance.

"You can't cheat Death. But you can piss it off."

Memories can be tricky, and there isn't quite enough known about the human mind to actually understand the concept of amnesia and how to reverse the effects, so for a survivalist, a class of explorer with a normally flawless memory, a head wound that wipes out nearly every memory of the past he has can be considered a bit more than simple inconvenience. Sage is the sole survivor of a mysterious attack on an unknown guild that was all but eradicated while exploring the Labyrinth, on the first floor no less. There are no leads on how it happened, no remains to take back, not even names or faces to remember, as Sage has forgotten basically everything from his past. Despite the tragedy, Sage is determined to move forward, even with horrific nightmares ebbing away at his sanity. He wants to honor his fallen comrades, if not by name, then at least by action, by living his life to the fullest and swearing not to succumb to the uncertainties and pain of a past he can't remember. Not alone by any means, he's taken in by the very novice guild that found him in the first place, full of rookies and dubbed as "Guild Halo" by Sage. The explorers of Halo are certainly mysterious in their own rights, and Sage is all too happy to immerse himself in their lives, if only to avoid the aching fear at the back of his mind, telling him that the incident that stole his memories wasn't as black and white as it first appeared. Thanks! <3 con·va·les·cence noun a period of rest; recovery. The anxiety tore through Blake like a kind friend with a gentle reminder. He could never truly Escape. He thought, with Callin dead and his past behind him, he could finally move on. But would that ever be the case? Blake's thoughts were pummeling deeper and deeper into a deeply twisted place in his mind, going back to the days when he lived in the dark and had to scheme to survive. Ammon watched as Blake slowly came undone from the seams. He seemed to enjoy watching Blake fall apart. Why is that? Why does everyone seem to enjoy it when Blake lets go of his sanity? Having to face the reality that his life would likely always be a fight. He would always have to kill. * DISCLAIMER- In this story world, each person gets five potential mates! At this point, he's entirely disgusted by his Complacency. For as long as he can remember, he has been at the whim of everyone's desires, neglecting his own. This left him wondering: what it is he wants? Could it be the sweet relief of death? Escape? Or simple Convalescence? *** ~Ms.Witch *** FINAL BOOK IN THE ~Escape~ SERIES!
