In a quiet village near Seoul, where gossip spreads faster than wifi and strange things lurk in the mountains, a 5'4" half-Black, half-Korean girl with killer amber eyes and a closet full of emotional damage finds herself at the end of her rope. Her dad's an alcoholic, school sucks, and thigh-high stockings aren't exactly made for running from your problems-especially not into a cursed forest.

That's where everything changes.

She stumbles in, dangerously hurt and barely conscious, collapsing at the feet of someone-or something-she doesn't recognize.

Daiyu, the Vampire Emperor. He's 6'10", built like a final boss, covered in tattoos that probably scream in Latin, and dressed like a royal from ancient China. Oh, and he's terrifying. Immortal. Possibly allergic to smiling. And definitely not used to dealing with tiny humans bleeding all over his sacred forest.

He should've walked away. He's done it before. But something about her-her eyes, her scent, her stubborn refusal to die-makes him stay. He helps her, just this once. Big mistake.

One thing leads to another... and somehow, between the blood-drinking, sarcastic banter, and completely inappropriate staring, they start to fall for each other.
