In the small town of Murkin, Colorado, people having been going missing. It all started when Ricky Whitfield, senior and star quarterback of Murkin High's football team, disappeared along with his girlfriend, Evelyn Torres, in March of 2023. Police theorized that the two ran away together and the investigation into their disappearances was brief. Since then, two students, Alana Mackley, and Eli Caldwell, along with several homeless people in the town have gone missing.
Almost exactly two years since Ricky's disappearance, senior Lucy Cooke and her friends are excited to graduate and move on with their lives. But, as another student disappears, Lucy and her friends find themselves wrapped up in the middle of this mystery. Through trying to discover who may be behind the disappearances, Lucy uncovers terrifying secrets and disgusting truths. And, to her horror, she may find that the culprit is closer to her than she may think.
