Was it Casual?

Inspired by 'Casual' by Chappell Roan.

"It's for the better," he muttered again, restless beneath the tangled sheets. The words circled in his mind like a relentless echo, pounding behind his temples until a dull headache settled in. Still, he couldn't stop. He repeated them-not out of conviction, but self-loathing. After all, how could he fix another's splinter when a towering log blinded his own eye?
