Hawkins used to be a quiet coastal town in Southern California until Will Byers vanished. Every year since, something strange and violent has crept in from the shadows.

Eddie Munson thought he knew how his final senior year would go, but everything changed when a class project with Chrissy Cunningham sets off a chain of events that lands him face-first in the middle of Hawkins' supernatural war.

And then there's Steve- exiled to the sea and bound by magic only a true love's kiss can break. He never meant to get involved with a bunch of land-walking kids, let alone become their protector in a fight he doesn't fully understand.

When a storm crashes their worlds together, Eddie and Steve find themselves on opposite sides of the shore but fighting for the same thing: the people they love.

TL;DR: Found family, grief, merman lore, identity, platonic true love, and Steve Harrington absolutely not coping with being a magical sea creature.
