450 Wildcard A contemporary sports romance Finley Hale is used to handling emergencies. Paramedic by trade, steady by nature, and semi-freshly unengaged. What should have been her bachelorette weekend is turned into an overdue reminder that she is still young, still fun, and still has time to make some wildly questionable decisions. With the help of good food, loud music, overpriced beer - and a crash course into the world of Supercross - Hale is hoping to shake up her life just enough to feel like she's still living it. Maverick Cross doesn't chase attention. He tends to duck away from it. He's the rookie wildcard lighting up the 450 class with dirt on his boots, grit in his blood, and a media team that wishes he'd smile more. He knows this season is important to make a splash and catch the eyes of sponsors, but he can't help himself from the itch he's got to just make it to Motocross season. A recluse to the general public, he's being pressured hard to step out into the limelight more. He's not trying to shake things up more - he's barely keeping a grip on his handlebars the way things are now. The only thing they have in common is probably their one-track minds and debilitating levels of ambition. So when a literal run in throws their worlds together, the last thing either of them expects is for it to stick. They're from different states. On different schedules. Living lives that don't really leave a lot of room for 'what ifs'. But some connections don't care about timing. And there's a big difference between crashing... and holding on tight.

I meet him at the right time. Or a completely wrong one, depending on the perspective you look from. I am not the one to fall head over heels in love with someone and he is not the guy someone should even fall in love with. But there are all the witty comebacks, the unplanned meetings at the bar, the rides on his motorcycle, all the laughs we share before the morning ... It does something to both of us. It changes us to the extent where we suddenly can't live without all of this. He is not a good guy. He's as bad as it gets. But he's perfect for me. I want to believe our story is a modern fairy tale with a more realistic ending. You won't get the princess-prince bullshit from me. You'll get it how it is with no sugar-coating. I was no princess and he was no prince, yet we still had something beautiful going on. For a while, at least.
