After the deaths of her mother and her uncle Hope Mikaelson moves to Los Angeles with her father, Klaus, and her uncle, Holden, in order to start fresh and live a normal life. On her first day at her new school she meets Samantha Larusso and the two of them become fast friends. Hope finds herself getting introduced to karate thanks to Sam. Specifically Miyagi-Do karate.
Originally, Hope had joined Miyagi-Do as a way to get her mind off everything that happened. Now she really enjoys it. Not because she's at the level as the best fighters on the team, not because of the friendships she formed with her teammates, but because she can actually be a teenager and live her life.
Now Hope and the others prepare for the Sekai Taikai to ensure that they win and have their dojo be known worldwide. Hope knows that it won't be easy, especially when there are many other great dojos in the world, but she's ready to face whatever comes her way. She wasn't prepared to be brought to a theater where her and many others will be watching her life. And she sure as hell didn't expect to fall in love with someone from one of the rival dojos.
