"It's called The Breakfast at Tiffany's Rule," she says to me in a flat tone while pouring my coffee. She acts like I should know what this is, "Have you ever seen the movie?" "The Breakfast At Tiffany's Rule? And yeah, I've seen it once or twice." "Well, Holly had everything she needed in New York! She and I are alike in some ways but....she had freedom," she shakes her head, "so I came up with that rule so that I can get my freedom just like her!" I take a sip of my coffee and smile, "So you two are both gold diggers? And the rule is to find a sugardaddy to pay your way to luxury vacations?" She glares at me and says with an icy tone, "No. We're both wild things," She turns around to head back to the kitchen, "The rule is set for everyone else. Quote me on this, you should never give your heart to a wild thing." __________ In a small town in Mississippi, there is no room for girls with big dreams. Annabelle has been frowned upon for her thoughts of running away ever since freshman year of high school. After going to a college close to home, her goals AND the eye rolls follow. She came up with The Breakfast at Tiffany's Rule to make sure that she would never back down from her dreams or let anyone get in the way. While working at the local café, she meets Mick, the guitarist for a band road tripping it to LA from New York. Since the band decided to take the longer route for a better time, the two end up learning a little bit about each other in the short time that they are in the cafe together. He finds out about the rule, too. Soon their time was up in that small town café so the wannabe rock legend and the wild thing part ways. However, that is not the last time they will see each other. With The Breakfast at Tiffany's Rule still set in place, of course. She just won't let anyone give his heart to a wild thing.

"It's been a week since I've been here and haven't felt like leaving the house at all. Nowhere else would ever feel the same." "That's because you're living with a family right now, and this is not just a house. It's a home." I put my finger as a bookmark and settle deeper into my position. "You like the lively air of it, that's different from a hotel of the same kind." "That's true. But what I'd meant by saying it won't be the same is that - you won't be there." Before I can open the book, my hands still. His attention pulls mine. And he smiles with a sadness of the sentiment. "I like talking to you, hearing your rational thoughts on everything except your privacy." His cheek puffs with a half smile. ---- Superstar's Staycation Spoils My Vacation Some superstar idol with pale face and handsome charm crashes my stay with my grandparents and thinks he can get a wonderful small-town homely time out of my peaceful vacation break. My grandparents agreed. So, now I have to show the foreigner around and teach him the ways of local life. Yeah, dream on, stranger. Imma only show him around our courtyard and teach him to respect privacy. Starting with sticking to his AC room and not stepping into mine, very unnecessarily. If only my brain weren't so strict on the principle, my heart wouldn't have defied it. (Img from Pinterest - https://in.pinterest.com/pin/605663849927937736/)
