"Rey let me go from here."

"No."His answer was calm, too calm.

And that scared her more than his anger could.

"Do you really think you can stop me?"

A faint smile appeared on his face as he took a slow step towards her. "Yes, Firefly. I can. Because you're not going anywhere. Not back to him."

"My right place is with Vihaan."
Everything stopped.

The softness in Reyan's eyes disappeared.
"Say that again." His voice dropped.

"I dare you." He stepped closer.

She stepped back."What are you doing? Stay in your limits, Reyan Just because I gave you the right to interfere in my life doesn't mean you'll cross that line."

A dark smile touched his lips. "That's exactly the thing, Firefly. You gave me that right. You let me enter your life, your pain, your broken pieces. And now you think I'll stand silently while he destroys you again?"

"He is my boyfriend."

"He was." Reyan corrected immediately.

"And after knowing his true face, I won't let that happen, he don't deserve you"

"And who deserves me? You?The person who broke his jaw a few minutes ago?"

"Yes." No hesitation, no regret."I did. And if he comes back just to make you cry again."His eyes darkened."I'm scared of what I'll do next."

A chill ran through her.This wasn't the Reyan she knew.The man who always handled everything calmly.

"You disgust me, Reyan. How can you be so cruel?"She turned to leave.But before she could Reyan caught her wrist. Not hurting her.

Just stopping her. "Firefly."

She tried to move away, but he stepped closer until her back touched the wall.
His eyes locked with hers. "You can hate me. Call me cruel. But I won't apologize for protecting the one person I can't lose."

Her heart raced. Because the scariest part was. She knew Reyan meant every word.

"I'm leaving."

"No."His voice was dangerously soft. "Not this time." He held her hand. "Because now I know exactly what I'm doing."
