Jen's the kind of girl who keeps her head down and gets things done. She got her work ethic from her dad and her stubborn streak from her mom..two people currently going through a messy divorce.
Living alone and trying to keep her life together, Jen works the night shift at a quiet convenience store off the highway.
It's not glamorous, but the pay is good and the routine is simple: show up at 10 PM, leave at 6 AM, attend to a few late night wanderers, and try not to think too much.
She's closer to her dad, but she sees both sides. She's stuck in between--- watching her family fall apart while pretending that everything's fine.
And it was fine. The late nights, the half empty store, the flickering lights
it all became her new normal.
