Ryder Heath is nothing more than a southern bell. Growing up in Montgomery Alabama, she was raised to be kind, loving, accepting, and little bit wild. However, her world is turned upside down when her parents pass away and she is moved hundreds of miles north to Detroit Michigan. Now not only is she far from her comfortable life in the south, but she is living in a house with three sets of identical twin boys. Can these boys bring a little city into the broken heart of this small town girl? Will Ryder be able to win the hearts of these rambunctious tricksters with her southern charm all while telling them apart? A story filled with laughter, tears, love, hope, heartbreak, and a whole lot of learning to cherish the differences within ourselves.

Her voice carried through the thin walls of her room as she sang along to the music of her guitar. I knew she was leaning back against the wall like she always did. With only the wall separating us, I closed my eyes and listened to soothing sounds and sang along with her...these lyrics I had heard time and time again:
"Play me that song,
play me that song you wrote,
about the girl who might not ever know
how much you care
or how much you love her..."

After leaving 11 years ago, it's fair to say that her life now is a 180 spin on the free innocent teenager she left as. With her 9 year old daughter, Hallie, in toe, Sadie needs to find a new kind of normality where se can release the reins of control and learn to let go a little. She's more than happy taking things at her own pace. Hoping that if she moves slow enough, she can keep her and her daughter in their own little bubble that has kept them safe all these years. But with the arrival of a familiar stranger arriving at Black Oak Ranch, things are set to be more complicated than she'd been counting on. Ryder Matthews fucked up and he knows it. 11 years ago, he left the love of his lie in some pre-college life freak out and when he returned 3 years later, she was gone. After spending the better part of 14 months travelling the world in hopes of finding some kind of meaning to life outside of the little town where every turn is a burning memory of Sadie, he returns with no hope. He's stuck to deal with his consequences. A week after his return home, Ryder heads to Jack Taylor's ranch to get his old farm hand job back. When he steps out of the car, a 9 year old girl greets him and when her mom comes to see what the fuss is all about, he's met with the last person he thought he'd ever see back in Alcombey. Let alone with a child. Ryder and Sadie have a lot of baggage to unpack if they have any hope of being able to tolerate working together. But when his heart is still beating for her and her heart is locked behind solid concrete walls, is that even possible?

But her world changes when she meets Ryder Becker. Ryder Becker is one of the most popular boys in all of Willington High. I mean, all the boys want to be him and all the girls worship him. He could care less about grades because he knows that football is what's going to get him into a good college. But his carelessness in grades changes when he meets Autumn. In the beginning she thinks it's a total curse, but maybe it's a blessing in disguise... They both may pretend on the outside that they are fine, but truth be told, they are both broken. The way his smile doesn't match his sad eyes draws her towards him, and the scars and bruises on her skin draw him towards her. A cure for your sadness could be another person, right? Well put her broken pieces together with his, and you have cracked the code. Love could put their broken pieces back together. ----------------------------------- A sky full of stars and he was still staring at me. "Why are you staring like that?" I asked him. "You scare me, Autumn." Ryder admitted. "How come?" He looked down at the grass beneath us then back at me and gulped. "Because I want to tell you secrets I'm too scared to admit to myself." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 🤍I wrote this when I was around 13-14 (i'm 19 now) so some chapters may be cringy but I am too lazy to rewrite them, and still so many people enjoy this book and i'm truly grateful!
