Rory Barrens was supposed to be dead.

A 22-year-old engineering student with a bright future, Rory's life was violently torn apart when a confrontation with his abusive, alcoholic mother left him wrecked. After a vicious argument, she shoved his face onto a searing hot stove, marking him forever. As he tried to escape, he was shoved out of a window, falling to what should have been his death.

But Rory lived.

Now, disfigured and fractured, he has become something else entirely, an unrelenting force driven by a singular need: revenge. He no longer sees people as humans but as machines, pieces of a puzzle that can be taken apart to reveal what makes them tick. His victims are his experiments, ripped apart and analyzed in twisted attempts to understand the inner workings of the mind and body itself.

Slow and deliberate, his every movement is calculated. His vengeance is unwavering. His goal: to destroy the one person who shattered him-his mother. And he will never stop, not until every shred of what she loves is torn away.
