As a Hellsborn demon, Kali has always looked forward to meeting someone who will share the infernal bond with her. The same bond that marks two demons forever, signifying a partnership that not even hell can break apart.

On the other hand, Leviathan, the Primordial demon of envy, has always believed the infernal bond to be a myth. All of the seven Primordial demons have not met their fated, and all demons in hell have not reported to have met theirs in the last century.

Certainly, it must be a fluke; a myth cascaded through generations of demons.

But what happens when a hopeful Hellsborn and a skeptic Primordial realize they share that bond?

"This is an Angel girl named Maisie Lark. She hasn't ever stepped foot into the 'real world'. Attempting to break the lock is useless and I have the key. I've extended the olive branch. Maisie's your motive. Come find me when you're ready." Cecilia Star has been alive long enough to know what it's like to be a demon in the human realm, but she's also been alive long enough to cope with her everyday life. But when she wakes up handcuffed to a strange Angel she's never met before, she's thrown for a loop. Cecilia assumes it's all just one big, extremely cruel prank by the twins in order to rile her up and test her limits. After all, Maisie is everything that Cecilia would rather leave behind her, determined, opinionated, and so very clearly wrong. But it doesn't take Cecilia and Maisie long to realize that the handcuff prank is a little more than just a lighthearted joke. The thing about Demon metal is that it is a fickle thing. It can only be unlocked by the person who has the key and no matter what method is used, it cannot be broken. Cecilia would rather just forget the whole thing, refuse to give Ezekiel the satisfaction he so wants, and remain handcuffed to Maisie for the rest of her life. It doesn't take long to realize that it's just not possible. Maisie is everything that she shouldn't be in the human realm. Bigoted, rude, and annoyingly difficult. She can't even get close to Cecilia without making some sort of remark on how she can't stand Demons. As the time ticks down and options become less and less, maybe being handcuffed to each other will teach Cecilia and Maisie a thing or two about themselves. Maybe running from the past isn't the right choice and perhaps, maybe even a Demon and Angel could fall in love too. (Entered in the Open Novella Contest 2022 under prompt 79. The Fallen Guardians by Readerandwriting
2 parts Ongoing Mature
In the last moments of a great and lost Holy War, four beings from a world of swords, sorcery, and divinity are suddenly transported into the modern day world. Zeluciel, a Tribrid of an angel, demon, and human, wrestling with instincts he doesn't fully understand. His powerful presence commands fear and awe, yet he stands as a silent guardian to the only companions he's ever trusted. By his side is Alaric, a Transcendent Human, one who has found and reached power beyond what most could ever hope to achieve, grounded in free will, and endlessly fascinated by the supernatural forces around him. His heart belongs to Eleanor, a half-angel whose quiet wisdom and emotional intuition anchors the group. Often underestimated, Eleanor's strength and connection to nature shows a power that makes her enemies regret. Completing the group is Seraphina, an angel and beacon of righteous conviction. She upholds divine purpose and justice but finds herself challenged by the modern world's murky morality and by her growing trust in Zeluciel. Her unyielding loyalty to the group is tested time and time again as old lines between good and evil blur. Together, they must navigate a strange new world dominated by technology, chaos, and fractured beliefs. Their arrival in this age, being an accident, have also brought evils from their world into this new world, seeking vengeance. The four friends must decide whether to fight a lost war or forge a new life in a world that is beyond their control.
