With trembling fingers, she picked up the phone, the line crackling with anticipation. "Hello?" she whispered, her voice barely audible. The response was cold and calculated, a chilling echo of the past. "Molly," Brendan's voice slithered through the line, sending a shiver down her spine. "I told you I would find you. Did you really think you could hide from me?" Her grip on the phone tightened until her knuckles turned white. "What do you want?" she managed to ask, her voice wavering with fear and anger. "Isn't it obvious?" he sneered. "To finish what I started. You think you can just leave me behind and live your life like nothing happened? You're mine, Molly. You always will be."
