Wide, solemn grey eyes blinked up at her-too ancient for a newborn. The same strange silver-black whisps clung to the infant's temple, tousled and defiant. Small fingers curled around the fold of her mother's robe, and Lady Aizha-pale, gaunt, radiant in her own way-smiled down at her as if the entire world had returned in that moment.

She whispered something: "Your name is Yuka. You are Yuka, of the House of Ren."

Long ago, the four nations lived in balance. Then 100 years ago the Fire Nation began its war under the heat of Sozin's Comet, and the Avatar, master of all four elements, vanished when the world needed him the most.
