Morrigan is brilliant and brutal. Her brutality shocked the nation when she won her Games. She had the highest kills as a female tribute. Since she could walk, her mother, Nadia Goldenrod and winner of the 25th Hunger Games, trained her mentally and physically.

"If you can't beat them physically, then use your damn brain."

Over and over again that was repeated. She won her Games with intelligence and strength that she thought no sixteen year old should have. She shouldn't have won, that was for sure. In a fit of rage and rebellion, Morrigan made a statement that was seen across all of Panem. Because of her stunt, she was hated by President Snow so he used her body to please.

But a boy made that worth it. Knowing she would see him every year for every Hunger Games made things slightly better.

Slightly. But it was better than nothing. Until it became something better, something they both needed.
