Centuries after humanity goes interstellar a unity has been formed between most major planets in the core systems to make strides toward intergalactic peace and stability. An experimental program that was laid to rest bred one of the single most dangerous threats the Unity has ever seen who plots to use it's current vulnerability to his advantage. The relatively new, United Planet's of Inner Worlds struggles with the beginning stages of an intergalactic republic and must face whether or not hey trust reinitiating the very program that made the greatest threat they've had to face, yet - the key to it all - an untrained, unburdened grandson of one of the UPIW's greatest admirals.

Zero Sum

Humanity is not alone in the universe. More specifically Earth is not alone. It is an age of wonder for humanity. For all but a few. Our history has been altered, according to one who has visions of the fractured world that could have been but never was. The way history would have played out without an intergalactic coalition of humans visiting Earth. And he cannot decide whether the advanced human's arrival is really all that it seems. Whether we would have been better off as things are now, or with how his visions tell him things ought to have been. There are multiple worlds colonized by a vast space faring technologically and biologically enhanced human race all across the galaxy. Earth is just one of many of such colonies. At some point in our forgotten past Earth was cut off from our intergalactic neighbors and decides to fend for herself. Later we lose ourselves to infighting and nationalism instead of being true to our nature of being a space dwelling, intergalactic human cooperative. Now our space cousins are reestablishing contact with Earth. Bringing their superpower enabled, technological mastery of science so advanced as to seem supernatural. Eliminating slavery, wars, crime, diseases, climate shifts, and currency, with their arrival. Offering the promise of entry into a thriving united galactic empire. (I am dropping in from time to time updating the story with fresh ideas as they pop into my head this is so very much a first draft I have not even decided on names for some of the characters or different factions of humans that are to be encountered from beyond our solar system)
