"You love yourself, don't you?" Neil asked smugly and Jaanvika nodded to which he replied, "That's why I hate you."

"I hate everything that you love." He repeated with a grin.

"I love your ocean blue eyes." Jaanvika said after a beat, her smile turning sweet and sharp at once, "Can you please pluck them out?"

She watched for the irritation to surface on his face. Instead, he slung his bag back onto his shoulder in one fluid motion, pulled her towards him by her arm, and muttered into the small distance between them, "Doesn't matter. They're already yours."

He paused for a second as something crossed his face, "They keep searching for-"

He bit the words off mid-sentence, while she hiccuped at the sudden weight of them, naturally.

His fingers came up to her nose, and he held her gaze with a steadiness as if he's laying a trap, "They actually search for you, you know. But do you know why?"

Jaanvika looked into his eyes the way one looks into deep water. She was compelled but uncertain of the depth,"Wh - why?"

"Just to annoy you." He bumped his forehead lightly against hers.
