"Please, for me-have the kind of summer that makes the rest of the year jealous."

Every summer, the Arden house on Martha's Vineyard came back to life.

Vera, Theo, and Juniper would spill through the doors like they never left, and their grandmother, Nell, made sure it always felt like magic: meals that remind you of childhood, stargazing from the backyard, the kind of traditions that stitched a family together.

But Nell's gone now. And the house feels a little quieter without her.

Still, the grandkids return for the first summer without their Grandma Nell, because she asked them to, because some promises are meant to be kept. And maybe, just maybe, there's someone on the island who's trying to make this summer feel like the ones the Ardens used to have. Full of long walks, inside jokes, late-night swims, and people who knew you before the world got complicated.

"You ungrateful bitch. I keep a roof over your head, and this is the thanks I get?" "You could have killed her," I retort, trying to muster up confidence that I don't possess. "What if she goes to the cops, Dad? That bruise on her face is enough to get you arrested and charged with assault." "What? You mean when she tripped over the mess you made in the kitchen?" His smile is so wicked that it chills me to my core. "She ain't going to the cops. Hell, she'll probably be back here tomorrow." "You're a bastard," I whisper, tears filling my eyes. "No wonder Mom left! She probably couldn't bear to spend another second with-" I'm pushed to the floor. I scramble backwards as he approaches me, his cheeks scarlet with rage, his pupils the size of needle points. In fourteen years, I've never seen him this mad. I've really done it this time. -------------------- (COMPLETED) Life is hard when nowhere feels like home. For Layla Dodds, there is only one goal: survival. A story of memory, distance, and finding your way back. Thirteen-year-old Salem is wild, wary, and far too familiar with loneliness. Growing up in a weathered trailer park tucked along the shores of a sleepy lake town in Maine, her days are ruled by her absent mother, her alcoholic father, and the freedom she carves for herself between the pine trees and cracked pavement. Everything changes the summer a wealthy family from New York buys the long-abandoned lakeside manor. With them comes Connell-polite, preppy, and completely out of place. Salem wants nothing to do with him. Neither do the other kids. But Connell, quiet and sincere, doesn't give up. And when Salem finally lets him in, a bond forms-unexpected, magnetic, and lasting. Each summer he returns, and each summer their friendship deepens, tracing the years from adolescence to adulthood in a rhythm all their own. But with Salem's troubled home life threatening to pull her under, and Connell's life of privilege drawing him toward a world far beyond their town, love is never simple. Misunderstandings, mistakes, and the distance of growing up test the fragile thread that ties them together. Still, summer after summer, they find each other. Told in vignettes of sun-drenched days, stolen kisses, and hard truths, All the Summers in Between is a poignant coming-of-age love story about the people who shape us, the places we never forget, and the kind of connection that survives everything in between.

Well Now You Know

"Do you see me?" "I always see you." ⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻ It all started three years ago. During that elusive summer that cracked them all down the middle and changed their lives forever. How do you live with that? How do you change all you know and attempt to live the same? Well, the eight of them are about to learn perhaps you don't just get to live with it, and instead, you need to confront the past. Or maybe just fucking pummel it further into the ground. ⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻ "Why were we ever friends?" Dakota mutters, wiping a hand down his face. "Because we all worked well together." Maeve shrugs, "We're all so fucking different. It honestly made this whole thing perfect." Neviah raises a brow, "I think we have different definitions of perfect." "I second that." Victoria hums. "Perhaps deserving?" Phoenix reasons, "We're not perfect, but we're all deserving of each other?" Dylan smiles softly, "I like that."
