Years before Marie is chosen by Light to continue his legacy, 11-year-old Hayden Belle resides with his parents, his older brother, and his sisters in Seattle. Together, the family spends one last Thanksgiving with each other, not knowing things will take a dark turn. Hayden's father, Haley, is sent to Japan with the rest of the FBI agents to catch Kira. Unfortunately, Haley is killed with all of the other FBI agents not long after Christmas.
