adventure steampunk suspense thriller vampires werewolves

This is my little alternate story to a video game known as "The Order:1886"; which I strongly recommend you play or if you have played it then this will make a bit more sense. Most of my weapons and locations used aren't exactly from the video game. Character names I tried to keep genuine although this is simply BASED off The Order and not the alteration of the story itself.

A thrilling, steampunk Vicorian-England era that, un-like genuine history, was based the advancements of technology through the bloodlust of common horrors. Werewolves, Vampires, Cults and Mysterious rely on this story of The Order, an organization made to take care of the "Half-Bloods" fight against the hoards and the bandits, mercenaries and rebels with ties to the East-Indian Trading Company.

A short story prompt for a writing club I'm in I had a month to write it and a 12.5k word limit! It deserves to be longer so I probably should have done something that works well with the limit, but I had a really fun time writing out a concept start for this larger story I'm working on :) Again, this is a concept story! it has it's flaws, I look forward to rewriting it sometime in the future :) The story will explain things somewhat as you read through, but if you would like, here is a setting synopsis: At the end of the 21st century humanity fell to a incurable blight, the Blood Curse, and civilization as it was known collapsed with it. It was only through the biological properties of vampires, whom have existed as long as humans, that humanity could safely stave off the curse. One thousand years later, humanity and vampires have grown together through this mutual need, human's needing their curses to be sated, Vampires needing human blood for sustenance. A once tumultuous relationship of predator and prey now was one of equal standing and reverence. Not all human's have taken kindly to this new order of things however, and societies do exist that reject vampires and dangerously brave the curse on their own. In recent years these human's have become more brave and more daring, and in an ambush on Wyatt's village, Karva the town vampire has been injured and cannot satiate the curse for a time, right when a young child, Kuuno, is in dire need of it. Wyatt, a fledgling vampire yet to conquer their thirst for blood, Yeshen a doctor's apprentice, and Kuuno, the young child, venture out into the woods set for the nearest village and it's vampire to save the young boy. In this thick forest and uncertain times, what will they discover, and will they make it to their destination safely?
