God Will Not Bless Us is a coming-of-age story about Avery, a devout Catholic freshman whose faith is the foundation of her identity-and the armor she wears against a world she doesn't understand. She doesn't drink, smoke, curse, or entertain thoughts about other girls (obviously). She's especially not like her-Jullianna, the effortlessly magnetic bully from high school, who Avery catches one night drunk and kissing another girl at a party. It's disgusting. Shameful. Sinful. Or at least, that's what Avery tells herself.

But when Jullianna unexpectedly begins to show kindness-asking Avery to hang out, texting late into the night-Avery finds herself torn between her religious convictions, the repressed feelings she can't name, and a lifelong desire to be accepted by the very girls who once made her feel small. As their connection deepens, Avery is forced to confront the strict moral expectations of her upbringing and the silence she's learned to keep around her distant, devout parents.

Navigating guilt, longing, and the fragile boundary between love and loathing, Avery begins to question whether her faith is truly her own-or a cage she's been taught to call holy. In a world where she's been taught that God blesses the righteous, she must ask herself: what is she willing to give up for His blessing? *ART IS NOT MINE*
