Ponyboy Curtis was left feeling numb after the events of Windrixville. Sure Johnny was alive, Dally too- even after that fateful night after the rumble. But something was different. Johnny could barely run, Dally was somehow quiet. But life moved on for everyone. Ponyboy has to finish up his sophomore year and as life starts to become back to normal, a wild free spirited Soc girl enters his life.
