Depression is rather common, you aren't alone. Here's my expressive interpretation of a depressive episode....

"The bridge will give out under your feet sending you into a whirl. Down a path of uncertainty. You will hit the bottom of the pit. The air now knocked out of you. Your limbs are now bound to unbelievably heavy weights. An overwhelming concoction of sadness and nothingness will blanket over you. You keep plummeting further, losing sense of YOU in this void..."

When you experience the worst thing you could ever imagine, how do you react? - "The water looked so tempting under me as I stood there in the dark. The splashing sounds as the waves hit the stone calmed me down and I took a deep breath. Yes. This was it. I closed my eyes and took one step closer, feeling the curb under the soles of my shoes when I stopped again. Then my heart started pounding when I heard the sound of an angry engine behind me, a screech and a crash. Trapped. Surrounded on all sides by an overpowering barrier visible only to you. A barrier consisting of your thoughts, your dreams, your hopes, separating you from the rest of the world. Thoughts struggling to escape, the memories vivid in your head. You're trying to push back the flood of emotion, trying to break down that wall that's separating you from the judgement that awaits you at the other side. So as I sit in this circle of fuck ups, I realize just how different I am from them. I didn't attempt suicide because my mother was a crack addict who didn't want me. My father wasn't abusive. I didn't have a sibling die in a car accident. I was never really bullied either. For every person out there that was quiet, not because they chose to be so, but because they were choking in the smoke. Because their opinions were apparently not worth anything. Because they didn't know just how to say what they felt. For every person that is consumed by their own thoughts, the derision from the outside world only making it worse.
