They say survival changes you. I didn't realize how much until I stopped recognizing the person I'd become.

I thought finding something with Bellamy Blake-something real-might mean we'd finally get a chance to breathe. But peace was never ours to keep. Not with the Mountain Men watching from the shadows. Not with the Ark crashing down and turning everything we built into their mission.

Now we're surrounded by strangers who call themselves allies, by leaders who think they know what's best. And I'm caught between two worlds-the one I was born into, and the one I've learned to understand. The Grounders trust me. Maybe more than my own people ever did.
