Clarke Griffin used to believe in happy endings. She believed in them when she walked down the aisle at eighteen, belly barely showing and heart filled with foolish hope. She believed in them through nights she cried into her pillow and mornings she plastered on a smile for Maddie. She believed, even as the man she married slowly chipped away at the girl she used to be.
