Zhao Yuanzhou, a police officer from Shanghai, is relocated to the small city of Beixu because of misconduct. He is bored by the peacefulness of the city, until a renowned teacher of Beixu high school is found dead in front of the school building.
While investigating, he meets Zhuo Yichen, a teenager hiding his true self behind a well-kept mask. Their initial meetings are filled with wariness and distrust, but the more they interact, the more they start to understand and rely on each other.
