They were too rude, cold and harsh to them, and the Smiling Critters always tolerated it until the day came when the Nightmare Critters realized their guilt and no longer wanted to hurt the Smiling Critters, they began to try to win their friendship, but unfortunately it became too late, as the Smiling Critters began to take revenge. They also became the same as Nightmare Critters, but much worse...

Nightmare critters & father figure reader
One day, outside of the infamous Playtime co., you meet a group of living plush toys known as the nightmare critters. Once you realize they're just kids who have nobody to look out for them, you decide to take them home to care for as your own. This was inspired by the smiling critters x mother figure reader stories, I thought it would be fitting to give the nightmare critters a father figure. And there will be some self improvement on the critters' part.

The Smiling critters consist of: DogDay (Dog) (Wears a sun pendant)- Strong and Determined CatNap (Cat) (Wears a crescant moon pendant)- Calm and loves to sleep! Bubba Bubbaphant (Elaphant) (Wears a lightbulb pendant)-Bright and Brainy! Bobby BearHug (Bear) (Wears a heart pendant)-Caring and Compassionate! Crafty Corn (Unicorn) (Wears a rainbow flower pendant)-Artistic and creative! Picky Piggy (Pig) (Wears an apple pendant)- Loves food and nutrition! Hoppy Hopscotch (Rabbit) (Wears a lightning bolt pendant)-Energetic and sometimes impatient! Kickin Chicken (Chicken) (Wears a star pendant)-Cool and confident! This series will have the critters going on adventures, playing games, learning lessons, and living their everyday lives. There even may be a potential romance! I want everyone to know that this series is not relevant to the lore of Poppy Playtime it's fanfiction. I know in the original lore they were children who were made into toys. Dog Toy: A Poppy Playtime Fanfic
The first thing you notice is the torso with the bloodied, fleshy severance. Then the strung-up arms. Then the hanging head of something, someone, that looks so familiar. A dog, so similar to the other anthropomorphic characters... It comes to you, finally catching the name of this toy: Dogday. What the hell is he doing here? --- I've been so obsessed with the Smiling Critters since seeing Poppy Playtime Chapter 3, especially the one character who deserved better. The (New) Life of the Lavender Kitty
In the big city of TFCH (The Foot of Critteriffic Heights) one cat critter in specific has been living day by day, trying to stay happy in his current household. He would constantly stay up at night, and sleep during the day to avoid any form of interactions with his parents. Why? Because they're always peckering on him to change. Despite what he tries, for whatever reason, they're too persistent. They don't let him hang around the people he want to hang around, they're always telling him to be someone he isn't, trying to change his appearance, you name 'em: They're trying to control every aspect of his life. Sometimes they'd even take drastic measures to make sure it's done. Whether it harms or not. For 13 years he has been ignored, yelled at, sometimes even beaten for being the one HE wants to be. It only takes so long for one's sanity to fade though. After an incident with one of his few best friends, he's had enough... He decided to execute a plan he had made years before. Flee... Far... Far away... past Critteriffic Heights Perhaps he could finally find someone who cares and accepts. Maybe even something he was inches away from getting right before he left. Maybe now he can be him. Somewhere else, a dog critter was walking back into his house after a long day of playing around with his friends. When he got inside, he started making his way to the bedroom to rest for the night. But in the corner of his eye, he sensed movement. He tensed up as he decided to investigate it from the window. And there he saw it...
