Christian McNightley is one of those people who care about having a comfortable life. Having a comfortable life in the best high school in Los Angeles means being part of the popular people, otherwise known as the "In-group." Luckily, he is capable of doing almost anything, securing a life without any hardships. But it's not that easy keeping up with the In-group standards. And it's getting difficult for him to contain that part of him with a sense of justice, every time a kid outside the popular group gets bullied.
But then there's Laurelle Rivers, a.k.a. the paper crane nerd. Nickname says it all. But she's not like any other nerds who cower away when bullied by the notorious girls of the In-group. She's on the top of the nerd list, and irks every member of the popular group.
So what happens if, one day, Christian is dared to make this girl fall in love with him? Will he be able to crack that tough walls of hers? Or will she make his walls tumble down instead?
